The Liberals have named New Democratic provincial politician Doly Begum as their candidate for Scarborough Southwest following the resignation on Monday of longtime MP Bill Blair, and Toronto MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith says he plans to run to become Ontario’s next Liberal Party leader and hopes to secure his spot in the caucus by winning the upcoming by-election in Doly Begum’s current riding in Scarborough Southwest.
