Booth began airing blues, R&B, and soul back in 1963 on his “Big D” with R&B program late at night over Kitchener’s CKCR. That was followed by over 10 years on air at CHYM-FM also in Kitchener. A move to Brampton’s CFNY-FM came in 1976 and it was there that “Daddy Cool’s Bluestime” became Ontario’s most popular blues radio program up until 1988. In 1989, the Toronto Blues Society presented Dave Booth with their prestigious “Blues with a Feeling” Award.
