Strawberry Festival Is Fast Approaching June 29 – July 1
Written by Bob Pritchard on May 26, 2016
In 1984 the Stouffville Strawberry Festival was the town’s Canada Day celebrations teamed with the annual baseball tournament. Today it has grown into the second largest attraction in York Region with over 35,000 people visiting the Strawberry Festival each year. The Strawberry Festival is organized by a volunteer committee which has grown to more than 20-people strong. There is plenty to do and see at this year’s Festival including fun for the whole family, young and old.
The Festival Market at the Strawberry Festival features over 200 crafters, food vendors and small businesses setting up shop in and around Memorial Park, Park Drive, and Burkholder St. The streets will be closed to traffic allowing festival-goers to stroll the streets and browse the market while soaking up the festival atmosphere! Come out and enjoy the local crafts, food, and entertainment. From handmade jewelry to garden furniture, from strawberries and cream to hot dogs, from health food to pet care, we’ll have something for everyone!
The festival is a great success due in large part to our amazing volunteers. So whether you are a student wanting to complete your hours, or a community member just wanting to get involved and help out – we have many great opportunities for everyone.
Our volunteer sign-up form will be opening soon. So, please watch this space and our social media carefully.
